Mr. Kevin B. Hinson is the founder and sensi of Tora Ha Kempo Academy. He has been practicing the Martial Arts for 30 years, and teaching for 10 years. He is a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Tora Ha style, 1st Degree in Shorinji Toraken Ryu Kemp, 2nd Degree Knife, 1st Degree Cane, and 1st Degree Escrima Baton. He has taught children for 8 years. He also teaches special classes for Mecklenburg County Parks & Recreation, teaching Martial Arts and Safety to Mentally and Physically Handicapped Children and Homeless Children. He has also taught Safety Classes for the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.

Tora Ha Kempo Academy began in April 2003. The Academy incorporates Traditional Hard Fist/Soft Fist Japanese Martial Arts with Jujitsu, also usage and defense against Modern and Traditional Weapons. We also teach Self-Defense for real world street environments with multiple attackers and Threat Evaluation, Stranger Danger, Avoiding Problems and Avoiding Fights, How to describe a stranger and what to do if approached. We also teach online computer safety. We teach Respect, Honor, Honesty, Social Responsibility and Living your life as an example to others.
